Leave Your Whole Hunt
Whole-deer processing — our specialty, and the difference in this market.
Congratulations on a successful hunt! Now turn it into something your whole family will love. Havenwood takes your whole deer — field to freezer — so you don't have to quarter, trim, or guess. It's what we do best.
Our Wild Game Process
Please familiarize yourself with our updated Wild Game process and expected wait times for Deer Season 2026.
Whole Deer
Bringing us your whole deer is our specialty — the cleanest, easiest way to get every cut your family will use.
- Whole deer will be accepted starting September 12th through November 22nd.
- Drop-off times from September 12th to November 6th are during normal business hours: Mon–Fri 8–5, Sat 9–12.
- Drop-off times from November 7th to November 22nd are from 7am to 7pm every day, including Sunday. The facility will be locked at 7pm. Please plan to get ice and keep your deer cool until morning if you can't make it by 7pm. Do not leave your deer outside the facility.
- Please use the “Animal Drop-Off” entrance when dropping off your whole deer.
- At the time of drop-off, we will collect your information and check you in to our system. If you are a returning customer, your information will already be in our database.
- We will not be offering Euro Mounts or caping service. If you get a stellar buck, please contact your taxidermist to have it caped there, or cape it yourself.
- If you need a taxidermist for your Euro Mount or cape, we recommend Mid-America Taxidermy in Mayer, MN (10 minutes from our facility), phone 952-445-6646. Please bring your deer to the taxidermist first to be caped before dropping it at our facility.
Quartered and Trimmed Wild Game
- Quartered or trimmed wild game and trimmed birds will be accepted all year round.
- When dropping off your quarters or trim, please come to the main retail entrance through the double glass doors.
- Please only bring your meat in Ziplock bags or food-grade bags, not in buckets or pails. No scented trash bags — your meat will be discarded.
- Please bring your meat thawed. We will not accept frozen trimmings.
- Please bring your DNR tag for quarters and trim.
- At the time of drop-off, we will collect your information and check you in to our system. If you are a returning customer, your information will already be in our database.
Deposits
We will only accept wild game orders with a deposit in 2026. There are two types of deposits.
Deposits will be accepted by Cash, Check, and Credit Card. Note: a 3.99% fee for credit cards will be applied to the deposit amount.
Expected Wait Time
Our business has grown over the past few years, which means that the normal turnaround time you were accustomed to is no longer possible. With our core workload increasing, please expect longer wait times for your deer order.
We will be working hard to process all orders within an 8–12 week time period. It will be first come, first served, and this goes for all processing (whole, quartered, trimmed wild game meat). The only exceptions will be Duck, Goose, and Pheasant. These orders will be processed at the end of the season.
All orders must be picked up within 7 days of notification of completion. If they are not picked up within this time, there will be a $50 storage fee per week attached to your order. If you don't pick up your order within 4 weeks of notification, it will be discarded. No exceptions.
During deer season, we experience a high call volume of customers checking on the status of their order. These calls take us away from the work of processing your order and contribute to longer completion times. Please refrain from calling to check the status of your order unless it has been longer than 12 weeks. We will contact you when your order is ready.
Updated Product Selections
We have updated our product selection sheet. We will only be making flavors that are listed on our sheet this year.

Moose, Elk, Bear, Duck, and Pheasant follow the same process as deer — just a different animal. Wild game orders run with the seasonal hunting sessions, roughly mid-October to January. Deer season peaks here in November, and Havenwood focuses on deer processing from the first days of November through Thanksgiving.
